The turkey silently sits
Then slowly turns around
As slow steady footsteps Approach
With a menacing fearful sound
It looks at it's enemy
It's Eyes widened in shock
As it stares into the face
Of A rifle that's suddenly cocked
Cut to the scene of dinner
Guests coming soon or late
As the juicy succulent turkey slice
Is carried onto your plate
The family lights ablaze
Endless commotion about
And you can barely hear your own self
Above the endless shouts.
Hands slowly pass food across
The table of women and men
And as the food reaches one person
The food is gone there and then.
Squash turkey cranberries gravy
They all are passed around
And as you slowly lift your fork
It's gone before you make a sound
The howling of the distraught dogs
Watching their food devoured
And if you looked at their pitiful face
It would be bitterly sour.
As the festives slowly end
With effort you then leave your plate
And as you waddle your belly out of the door
You remember how much you ate
Then slowly turns around
As slow steady footsteps Approach
With a menacing fearful sound
It looks at it's enemy
It's Eyes widened in shock
As it stares into the face
Of A rifle that's suddenly cocked
Cut to the scene of dinner
Guests coming soon or late
